Full-Time Practice Nurse Job, Cambridge

Fantastic opportunity in Cambridge for a primary care experienced Practice Nurse to join a large, friendly training practice.

The practice has undergone some recent growth in its patient list size and they are now seeking another Practice Nurse to join their friendly team. The practice operates from a single site and the team is made up of Partners, Salaried GPs, ANPs, Pharmacists and a Nursing team, all of which are supported by a community team.

The role is ideally suited to someone who has previously worked in primary care, as main duties of the job will be to autonomously run chronic disease clinics. Other duties will include smears, immunisations, vaccinations, wound care, health promotion etc.

The site is a large and purpose built premises which has modern facilities and parking on site. It serves over 10,000 patients with a diverse population, in a residential area of Cambridge.

Key Duties

  • 4 or 5 days per week (30 - 37.5 hours)
  • Autonomous Nurse led chronic disease clinics
  • Identifying and managing patients with a chronic disease
  • Spirometry and peak flow readings
  • Diabetic foot examinations
  • Blood pressure
  • Cervical Cytology
  • Vaccinations, Immunisations, Wound Care, other treatment room duties
  • System One

Package and Benefits

  • Up to full time hours available
  • £17 - £19 per hour, £33,000 - £37,000 depending on experience

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • NMC registered Nurse
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Recent primary care experience essential
  • Cervical cytology training essential
  • Asthma or COPD experience essential
  • Qualification in Asthma or COPD desirable
