Consultant Psychiatrist (CAHMS) Job, New Plymouth New Zealand
Prospect Health are working alongside our public partner in New Plymouth. They have asked us to help them find a suitably qualified Consultant of Psychiatry to join their team within their child and adolescent health service.
New Plymouth is on the western side of New Zealand's North Island and is ideally located for those who enjoy the outdoor life. Hiking, biking and other such activities are very popular due to the areas amazing scenery based at the base of Mount Taranaki and the Egmont National Park. The town of New Plymouth itself is known for its sunny climate, art galleries and beautiful parks.
The position itself is for a consultant of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and you would report directly to the clinical director. There are currently 13 other psychiatrists at various levels that make up the CAHMS service in the local area. Running for 18 years and serving toddlers up to 18 years old, the CAHMS is part of a broader MHAS including a 23-bed unit for assessments and interventions. Qualifications and Experience Required:
You must have specialist certifications and registration with the GMC or equivalent body and the ability to move
- CCST in Psychiatry from the Royal College.
- American Board in Psychiatry and Neurology
- Fellowship from the Royal College in Australia and New Zealand
