Practice Nurse Role, Hornchuch


Excellent primary care opportunity for a Practice Nurse in the Hornchurch area of East London, part time position.

This is a single site practice based in the Hornchurch area of East London, for a General Practice Nurse. The role is ideally for a part time position, around 3 days per week at a rate of £22 per hour.

The role is suitable for an individual that has experience (1 year +) in a general practice / primary care setting. The practice is not able to provide training for someone without this, however this is a training practice that can provide further professional development.

Your duties will include telephone and face to face appointments, working in close conjunction with the GP and wider MDT assisting with Chronic Conditions, cytology, wounds and dressings, vaccinations and more. It is essential that you have recent experience in these skills and can perform clinics autonomously.

The practice itself is in a purpose built health centre in a residential area of Hornchurch. It provides primary care services to approximately 15,000 patients and operates using EMIS. The practice welcomes informal visits to learn more.

Key Duties

  • Part time position, ideally 3 days per week
  • Practice Nurse working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • EMIS
  • Chronic conditions including Asthma, COPD, Diabetes and
  • Hypertension
  • Dressings, wound care, dopplers, vaccinations / immunisations, health promotion, cytology and smears
  • Single site working
  • Contributing to QOF
  • Implement treatment plans for patients
  • Working within the NICE guidelines
  • Requesting pathology and referrals
  • Processing results

Package and Benefits

  • £22 per hour
  • £42,900 per annum full time equivalent

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • NMC registered Nurse
  • Recent experience within primary care
  • Certificate / training in Cytology and smears
  • Experience in chronic disease care
  • Right to work in the UK
