New Graduate/Experienced RVN wanted in Maidstone

One of UK's longest serving, employee owned, independent practices is looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse in Maidstone.

With 6 branches currently, which includes a main hospital in Sevenoaks that provides around the clock care, they are looking to expand not only their facilities, but also grow their team. The Maidstone practice consists of 9 rotating vets, including multiple holders of certificates, with a low referral rate, which exposes our nurses to a variety of different cases and treatments. You will form part of a strong nursing unit consisting of 7 RVN's.

With the aim of building a well-rounded team of RVN's, any special interests you have within the field of veterinary nursing is strongly encouraged to be explored as there is an uncapped amount on CPD and certificate funding. You are additionally encouraged to pursue and practice as a clinical coach.

Their Maidstone branch is looking for both newly graduated and experienced RVN's to join the team with a 32 hours per week rota, which is spread across 4 days. All members of the nursing team are expected to participate in a weekend rota of 1 in 4 Saturday mornings, as well as nominal backup cover for bank holidays and weekends.

Key Duties

  • General nursing duties dealing with small animals
  • Consultations
  • Monitoring and administration of anaesthesia
  • Administration of medication in accordance with professional guidelines
  • Surgical nursing and performing of schedule 3 surgeries when permitted
  • Providing in-patient care
  • Carrying out diagnostic tests with a state-of-the-art in-house laboratory

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • RCVS-Registered as a veterinary nurse
