Full Time Optometrist Opportunity, Twickenham


A full time Optometrist role, independent practice, Twickenham, Base salary up to £70,000, plus bonus

An exclusive independent practice in Twickenham, that is soon due to be refurbished, are looking for a confident Optometrist to join their friendly team as soon as possible, due to high levels of patient demand.

Superb facilities, soon to be updated and refitted, include a Phoropter, Octomap and OCT scanner, as well as computerised records to aid ease and efficiency.

As sole testing is required, an experienced individual is preferred. However, a recently qualified Optometrist will be happily considered due to the highly supportive environment within this highly regarded optics business.

Personalised training plans and career progression opportunities can be expected with fantastic opportunities for development in Dry Eye assessments, Visual Stress Testing, Dyslexia Screenings and MECs accreditation. You can enjoy a great deal of clinical engagement from the outset.

A mixed demographic of patients places emphasis on candidates overall levels of interpersonal skills. It is essential that there is an ability to manage communication confidently, clearly and respectfully.

Must be happy working Saturdays and a level of flexibility may be required, as occasional cover may be expected at surrounding stores.

This is a wonderful opening for a self-assured and capable applicant to join a superb self-disposed team of one manager and two dispensing opticians, with excellent working conditions and generous remuneration.

Location:

Situated around Twickenham, the home of England Rugby, there's a great range of amenities, fantastic links into the city and many picturesque open spaces to be explored.

The store is walking distance from local train station with parking available too.

Key Duties

  • Sole testing of up to 15 patients per day with flexibility offered for recently qualified candidates and ongoing support via clinical care Whatsapp group in case you need a quick second opinion etc!
  • 30 minute test time plus pre-screening to enable high quality patient care
  • Occasional cover at surrounding stores to cover holidays etc but only very limited aspect of the role
  • 9:30am-6pm with 30 minute lunch break (40hours week)
  • Essential Saturday Work with regular Sundays and day off provided mid week

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • A confident, preferably experienced Optometrist but application are welcomes from candidates all levels of experience
  • Minor Eye Condition Service Accreditation would be advantageous
