Consultant in Old Age Psychiatry role, Coventry
Are you a Consultant Psychiatrist working in the UK or eligible for Specialist registration with the GMC? If so, Prospect Health are working alongside a superb NHS trust looking to expand their Psychiatry department in Coventry.
Working as a Consultant in Community Old Age Psychiatry this is a new role expanding the existing provision. You would have the support of 2 additional consultants currently covering the community. This role would give you a superb opportunity to get involved in service planning and development to continue the improvement of patient care.
This is a full time position with on call provision of less than one in 10. The rota is shared amongst a large wider team within the Psychiatry department and there is superb support throughout the trust for consultants.
A detailed job plan will be discussed and agreed prior to starting work, however, one of the key driving factors for the successful applicant is the heavy involvement in the leadership and management of the wider clinical team.
As a Consultant, you would be encouraging a cohesive working environment with patient outcomes at the centre of what you do. This is a key emphasis of the trust and effective management and leadership is key to success within this role.
Salary: £79,860 - £107,668
CPD: Extensive CPD leave is provided and collaboration with the trust, college and colleagues helps to maintain a pro-active approach to continued development.
Excellent links with the local medical university are maintained giving further opportunities for academic or research interests.
Skills and Qualifications Required
- Primary medical qualification ( MD, MBBS e.t.c )
- A postgraduate qualification in Psychiatry e.g. Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent
- GMC registration and inclusion on the specialist register in Mental Health, or Speciality Trainees within 6 months of completing CCT
- Eligible for Approved Clinician status and Approval under section 12 of the Mental Health Act
- A minimum of 6 years postgraduate experience in psychiatry
