We are seeking a Small Animal Veterinary surgeon with a true passion for Exotics species. The role has a bias toward exotic species, but the successful candidate will also see small animal cases too.
We are searching for a passionate Veterinary Surgeon looking for a supportive and progressive opportunity. You will be working as an Exotics bias Vet seeing cases from species including: snakes, lizards, tortoises, bird of prey, parrots, canaries and budgerigars. You will also be required to work-up and see general small animal medical/surgical case loads too.
The practice specialises in Exotic species and has a very good local reputation. You can enjoy working in a modern environment with a dedicated floor in their practice for their more exotic patients, with a separate consultation room, operating theatre and housing for any inpatients who need to stay.
You will be supported by 4 other veterinary surgeons in the practice with an excellent level of experience. You can also enjoy support from a great nursing team with a mix of RVNs and ANAs
Key Duties
The role is a full-time position with a 4 working week. You can enjoy a nice work-life balance with a weekend rota of 1:4 weekends. There would be no additional OOH work or On-call.
Package and Benefits
You can enjoy a competitive salary depending on experience with lots of additional perks added onto the package. Salary ranges are between £35,000-£50,000 for the successful Vet joining them. Further studies including certificates will be negotiated on top of a set £1,000 CPD allowance plus 5 days study leave. You will receive generous time off as your holiday allowance and all registration fee's will be paid.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold or is working towards an Exotics certificate. Although this is beneficial it isn't essential and we would like to also hear from those with a keen interests in exotics with a view to starting a certificate in the near future. You must be registered with the RCVS and have the rights to work in the UK.
