Small Animal Vet Role, Tamworth

We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established Veterinary Practice based in Tamworth. You will be joining a progressive practice with 9 Veterinary Surgeons.


The practice is an extremely well-equipped, spacious and modern practice. There are 3 consulting rooms, 2 theatres, a large prep area and their own in-house lab. You will be able to enjoy working with toys including: Ultrasound, Digital X-ray, Dental X-ray, Laparoscopy, Orthopaedic kits and much more!


Currently they have a very experienced Veterinary team. You will have full support from the long standing 9 Vets. They have expertise in Cardiology, Ophthalmology and Surgery with 3 certificate holders. They currently have 2 Vets working towards their certificates too. Certificates are actively encouraged and funded in this practice with lots of complex cases to work-up alongside certificate study.


The practice currently takes referrals from sounding practices across the West Midlands. Referrals include cases in Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology and Cardiology.

Key Duties
We are looking for a Vet to join the practice on a full-time basis. The position boasts and excellent work-life balance of 1:8 weekends, Saturday 8.30-5.30pm and Sunday 9.30-4.30pm. An additional 2 Saturday mornings are required during that 8-week rota. You will have time back in lieu after working the weekend with your regular day off still through the working week. There would be no OOH or on-call required for this position.

Package and Benefits
The practice can offer an excellent overall package for the right Vet joining them. The salary brackets are between £35,000-£45,000 however more can be negotiated through the interview process. On top of a competitive salary you can enjoy an uncapped CPD allowance with funding up to certificate level. You can enjoy a fantastic holiday allowance of a total of 34 days per annum. Registration fee's including RCVS, VDS and an additional membership are paid for.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements
Ideally, we're looking for a Surgeon with 2 years UK experience however less experience can be considered for a confident Vet who is comfortable with all routine surgeries. You must be registered with the RCVS.
