We are currently recruiting for a Dispensing Optician to join a highly established and reputable independent practice, based in the Bedford area.

Established over 80 years ago and operating to the highest standards of patient care, the opportunity offers an exceptional work environment for an aspiring Dispensing Optician to join a clinical practice where no two days are the same.

Successful candidates will receive a market leading basic salary which is negotiable depending upon experience. Expect a basic of £26,000 - £35,000 with further negotiation potential for a experienced tenured Dispensing Opticians

Key Duties

• Working hours will be Monday to Friday 9am- 5:30pm and Saturdays 9am-5:00pm. Applicants should be willing to work Saturdays with negotiation of alternating weekends an option
• Practices have traditional values but are by no means old fashioned as showed through their varied patient base with the opportunity to offer visual stress & colorimetry and myopia management within very well-equipped practices including OCT, Henson fields screener and digital sight chart amongst more
• Independent practice that specialises in high end bespoke lenses and designer frames such as Porsche Design and Jaeger
• Deliver a genuinely personalised and caring service where targets are monitored but patient care is at forefront and standard test times last 30 minutes
• Additional responsibilities may include supervision and training of new staff members and students

• GOC and ABDO membership fees covered by employer and 3% addition matched on pension.
• Closed Sundays and Bank Holidays
• 25 days holiday + 8 Bank

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

• Applicants must be registered with the GOC as a Dispensing Optician
• Should enjoy working with an engaging team environment and dynamic management team and be passionate about optics!
• Open to all levels of qualified Dispensing Opticians with the right attitude
• Right to work in the United Kingdom essential
