Veterinary Surgeon Required, Shipley

Exciting opportunity for a veterinary surgeon looking for a role within a well-established, supportive practice with the opportunity to progress to a Clinical Director role for the right person!

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for the opportunity to shape a practice the way you see fit? Do you have prior management experience, or think you'll enjoy going into a management role with plenty of support? If so, then we want to hear from you! Located just a short distance from Leeds city centre but with the Yorkshire Dale just on the doorstep and the picturesque World Heritage site of Saltaire only a mile down the road, the location of this practice couldn't be better!

This is an opportunity for an experienced veterinary surgeon to make a real impact on the success of what is an already well-established practice. The practice prides itself on a high standard of care and great customer and client continuity. You'll be given the time and freedom needed to work cases up thoroughly as well as having minimum of 15-minute consults and plenty of breaks and protected admin time. This role can be full or part-time, with full-time being 40hrs a week over 4-days and a share of the Saturday morning rota. The practice is part of a wider group with neighbouring practices nearby to offer support.

You will work alongside a lovely team of dedicated vets, nurses and reception staff who all contribute to it being an excellent place to work. There is always a dedicated mental health first aider on site and the whole team adopt a no blame culture to ensure everyone feels supported. They're a sociable bunch regularly meeting up outside of work for drinks and food and several members of the team have been with them for almost 20 years!

The practice itself boasts a brand new state of the art ultrasound machine suitable for both abdominal and cardiac studies, Endoscopy both flexible and rigid, Digital X-ray, Laparoscopy and much more. Therefore, whatever your clinical interests, you'll always be challenged with an interesting caseload and the tools you need to provide the best outcome to your patients.

Key Duties

  • Management opportunities with the opportunity to progress into a Clinical Director role for the right candidate.
  • Loyal client base and lovely team of Vets, Nurses and Receptions (Some of which have been with the practice for nearly 20 years).
  • Full or part time considered
  • Full-time 4-days a week and equal share of the Saturday morning rota
  • No OOH
  • Flexibility to work around out of work commitments/childcare etc.
  • Plenty of breaks, admin time and longer consultation times

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • You must have the right to work in the UK
  • You must be registered with the RCVS to practice in the UK
  • Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 years post graduate 1st opinion experience
  • For anyone interested in a more senior role/clinical director, prior management experience would be advantageous, though full training and support will be offered
