Excellent Vacancy for a Vet with a Surgical Bias at Leading Independent Practice!

A leading independent practice are looking for an experienced vet with a surgical bias to join their team.

Part of a independent group based around the Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire area, this practice is looking for an experienced vet (2+ years qualified) with a surgical bias to join their team, and if required they are very keen to support you in gaining a certificate in surgery.

You'll be joining a team of twenty-one vets across the group, including multiple advanced practitioners, six certificate holders, and three vets studying for certificates so you know they will facilitate your development. At the practice you will be working at there is a team of four vets, and large team of nurses and support staff.

The practice is very well equipped, with surgical theatres and an extensive range of diagnostic facilities including ultrasound, digital x-ray, biochemistry, and heamatology, along with multi-parameter monitoring.

Key Duties

  • Open to full- and part-time candidates.
  • Full-time equals a four-day week.
  • Dedicated blocks for phone calls and admin.
  • Weekend rota frequency depends on staffing levels but you'll be contracted to do 1:5 at the very most, currently it is 1:7 and it will be 1:8 if you join.
  • Weekend rota is Saturday morning: 9:00am - 11:30am. Then on call for the the rest of the weekend with a guaranteed Monday off the following week.
  • ou will also cover weeknight OOH on the same frequency (1:8 if you join).
  • There is a dedicated night nurse team who provide the on-site care and handle phone calls, so you don't have to be on site.
  • Each out of hours call out earns a £30 call out fee. Mileage paid. Plus additional OOH surcharge of £33 plus vat per 30mins billed to the client in addition to procedure time.
