ECC Vet Required, Cardiff

A rare, unique role for an Emergency Critical Care vet has become available in a beloved South Wales hospital.

A brand new opportunity for a veterinary surgeon interested in all aspect of ECC work has become available in a thriving and progressive hospital.

Due to the increasing demands in the local area, my client are looking for a veterinary surgeon with a passion for emergency work to join an expanding and experienced team. With an option for day work or night work the opportunities available are extensive, and due to the a recently revised rota, you will achieve a fantastic work-life balance. You do not need a certificate in ECC work, just a passion for the industry!

The hospital itself is situated in a brilliant, accessible location with many amenities and idyllic walks only a stones throw away. The site is a busy referral and emergency hospital, covering OOH for the branches, as well as roughly 40 local practices outside of the group. The site boats a brilliant CT scanner, advanced ultrasonography equipment, extensive blood analysis equipment, endo-surgery facilities and dedicated operating theatres for various cases.

The role itself is open to the right candidate. Whilst you will see ECC work, you will be able to choose between working day shifts or night shifts to allow ultimate flexibility. For a day ECC role, you will work a pattern of 4 days on, 4 days off to maximise both a great work-life balance and a satisfying clinical role. Those interested in night work will see a shift pattern of 7 night on and 7 nights off - although this is open to discussion as the hospital will endeavour to provide a vet with their ideal working pattern.

In return, a successful applicant can expect a salary of up to £97,000 depending on the rota. Your work/life balance will be complemented by a holiday allowance of 6.6 weeks, with an option to buy and sell holidays. For continued development, a vet will have access to £1,750 CPD allowance, as well as 5 paid days. Your RCVS and VDS fees will be covered, whilst you will also have the option to have one other professional membership paid for.
