Experienced or New Graduate Vet Role, Guisborough

Perfect opportunity for a newly qualified vet looking to pursue small or mixed animal work in Guisborough. This independent practice has a track record of supporting new graduates with a friendly, patient and experienced team!

This independent practice has multiple sites across the Teesside region, priding itself on providing an excellent standard of care across their large and small animal clientele.

New graduates can expect a well-supported role, with a dedicated mentor and tailored development programme. You will not be expected to do sole charge and will have extended consults to give you more time to work with clients/cases.

The team is built up of 18 vets and 16 RVNs with a wealth of skill and experience behind them including certificate holders in surgery, medicine, dentistry, equine medicine, and sheep. Everyone is friendly and supportive, and there are trained Vet GDP advisors. Many of the vets been with the practice for a few years started off as new graduates.

The practice are continually investing in equipment so now have excellent facilities including endoscope, digital x ray, ultrasound, powered dental equipment, comprehensive in house lab, along with all the other modern veterinary toys.


Key Duties

  • The small animal position is for a 4 day working with 1 in 4 Saturdays (until 2pm) and the mixed position would be a 4 day week with 1 in 5 week nights on call (no Saturdays).
  • You will not be asked to do sole charge/OOH on your own until confident.
  • The mix between small/equine/farm can be tailored towards your preferences as there is a varied and exciting caseload for you to get involved with.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • New graduates will ideally be keen to work in a friendly, supportive practice and be strong communicators. Although this position is tailor made for new graduates, more experienced candidates are also welcome to apply.
  • You must be RCVS registered eligible to work in the UK.
