Area Care Manager (South)

This Christian organisation runs a number of Care Home services and associated community housing projects across the UK, in support of people who have offended or who are at risk of offending, so that they reintegrate into society, live crime-free and thrive.

An opportunity has now arisen to join the organisation as Area Care Manager (South) and take responsibility for overseeing 4 CQC-registered services (2 in the south east and 2 in the south west).

Applicants must have previous residential care management experience, including working with offenders with complex needs / challenging behaviour and must also be practicing and professing Christians.


Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Regularly visiting the services in your area, to offer support and guidance to staff.
  • Ensuring the services are delivering best practice and are fully compliant with regulatory bodies.
  • Helping local managers prepare and be accountable for budgets, financial forecasts and performance targets.
  • Identifying opportunities to develop the organisation in new and innovative ways.
  • Putting your belief in Christ into action as a leader and supervisor of staff.
  • Engaging with Christian faith based communities, including to secure financial and other support from donors or stakeholders.
  • Leading prayers, devotion and worship on a daily and weekly basis in order to engage people with the Christian faith, ensuring that each Group service is led and supported in faith.
  • Representing the Group at faith-based events externally, leading worship and devotionals and giving talks to increase and develop the supporter base for the Group both locally and nationally.


Applicants must be practicing and professing Christians (please note this is a lawful occupational requirement, in accordance with the Equality Act (2010)).

We are also looking for:

  • Previous residential care management experience, including multi-site management
  • Experience of general business management including budgeting and forecasting
  • Experience of working with offenders with complex needs / challenging behaviour
  • An excellent understanding of CQC regulations and experience of supporting care services to achieve compliance
  • A willingness to travel - it takes 3.5 hours to get from the most westerly to the most easterly service in your area and you might need to travel to head office 1-day per week too (although Zoom meetings are beginning to replace many of the more traditional face-to-face meetings, so this is tbc)


  • Basic salary of £48,000
  • Car or car allowance of £6,600
