I would like to take this opportunity to thank Luke Shearstone at Prospect Health for all of his help. I know compliments are rather painful for him, but I do believe that when someone is exceptional at what they do – they should be recognised for it! There are so many recruiting agencies nowadays, it’s almost too overwhelming to even consider as an option. Being a newly qualified optometrist, it was difficult to pluck up the courage to venture outside of my comfort zone; I wasn’t really sure of what path I wanted to take, and even when it came to light I was clueless as to how to execute it.
Luke was very professional, friendly, honest and ridiculously efficient; he took the time to understand me as an individual – i.e. my background, personality, morals, working ethics, achievements, ambitions etc, and from this information he was able to tailor a shortlist of local vacancies very quickly. I would be lying if I said that I didn’t once think to myself that it was too good to be true – how could a recruitment agency possibly care that much about me and my needs?… You’d be surprised! Other agencies offered one phone call lasting no more than 10 minutes, and consisted of no more than two questions. Whereas Luke, on the other hand, was always there to offer support and guidance every step of the way, and so made this whole ordeal a lot less daunting. As a result, I am thrilled to have accepted a brilliant job offer! I am really grateful for his hard work – and I would not hesitate to recommend his expertise.
