England, West Midlands, Birmingham /
Permanent/Long Term /
Up to £35000 per annum
This vacancy has now expired.

This is a fabulous opportunity to manage an exceptional care service that provides residential care and supported living services to mental health health service users and caters for users with chronic mental health issues. Although it's a very autonomous role, you will enjoy high quality support from a highly experienced and well qualified owner.

The overall purpose of the job is to be the Registered Manager of two two CQC-registered residential homes (total 10 beds) and a non-registered supported living service (4 flats, each with a single service user).

The residential homes are located very close to each other (a 30 second drive or a 5 minute walk) and the accommodation is very nicely kept.

Both of the residential services have Good CQC ratings, with the potential to become Outstanding, under the direction of a passionate and determined manager.

The key areas of responsibility will be:

  • Undertaking focussed activities and focussed appointments with service users and making sure that care plans are effective and being followed.
  • Maintaining a strong staffing group (staff turnover is low, the staff are highly regarded and that's one of the key reasons for the services' success).
  • Training staff and making sure everyone's knowledge and skills are continually updated.
  • Keeping the services compliant and inspection-ready at all times.

You will enjoy the support of a well-established team (including an experienced Deputy Manager) who take great pride in maintaining the excellent reputation of the service.

The following are all essential requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years experience at Manager or Deputy Manager level, in a CQC-registered residential care or supported living service..
  • Experience and knowledge about all aspects of mental health and psychiatric care, including procedures for admission to and discharge from hospitals.
  • Level 5 or equivalent professional qualification.

  • A basic salary in the region of £35K (dependent on experience) based on a 38 hour week (generally Monday to Friday 9-5 but also sharing on-call responsibilities every 2nd or 3rd week)
  • 25 days annual holiday plus stats
