Are you an experienced Account Manager, Technical Sales Engineer or Capital Equipment Sales professional with a background in industrial metrology, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) or advanced manufacturing technology?

Our client is a globally recognised engineering and technology business and one of the world's leading specialists in industrial metrology and precision measurement solutions.

Working with manufacturers across aerospace, automotive, medical devices, precision engineering, additive manufacturing and industrial engineering, they provide market-leading CMMs, quality inspection systems and precision measurement technology that help customers improve manufacturing performance, product quality and production efficiency.

Due to continued investment and growth, they're looking to appoint an experienced Industrial Metrology Account Manager to develop and grow the Northern UK territory.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a premium engineering business, selling high-value capital equipment into some of the UK's most advanced manufacturing organisations.

The Role - Account Manager (Industrial Metrology)

This is a consultative field sales and account management position focused on selling advanced metrology systems and capital equipment solutions.

Managing a defined Northern UK territory, you'll develop existing customer relationships while identifying new business opportunities, working closely with manufacturers to recommend the right precision measurement solutions for their production and quality inspection requirements.

Typical projects range from £60,000 to £1 million, with consultative sales cycles lasting between six months and two years.

You'll be supported by experienced Applications Engineers and technical specialists whilst taking ownership of your sales pipeline and territory growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow an established Northern UK sales territory
  • Develop new business opportunities across manufacturing and engineering markets
  • Sell high-value capital equipment and industrial metrology solutions
  • Manage complex consultative sales from enquiry through to order
  • Build relationships with Engineering Managers, Manufacturing Managers, Quality Managers and Procurement teams
  • Prepare commercial proposals alongside technical specialists
  • Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline and sales forecast
  • Attend customer demonstrations, exhibitions and industry events

About You

We're interested in experienced sales professionals with a proven track record in technical sales, engineering sales or capital equipment sales.

You'll ideally have experience within one or more of the following:

  • Industrial Metrology
  • Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
  • Precision Measurement
  • Quality Inspection
  • Manufacturing Technology
  • Capital Equipment (CAPEX)
  • Engineering Solutions
  • Automation or Industrial Equipment

You'll be confident managing long sales cycles, developing strategic customer relationships and winning complex engineering projects.

Candidates currently working for manufacturers, distributors or suppliers within industrial metrology or precision engineering are particularly encouraged to apply.
