We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a Maori-owned and operated healthcare organisation in New Zealand that is committed to improving oral health and overall wellbeing for underserved communities. This is a rare opportunity for an overseas-qualified dentist seeking meaningful work, strong work-life balance, and long-term stability in New Zealand.

Our client is an iwi (tribal) health provider, based in the beautiful city of Palmerston North, focussed on delivering a fully integrated model of care, combining dentistry, GP services, mental health, addiction support, and social services. The organisation focuses on health equity and serves Maori, Pacifica, and refugee communities in lower-decile areas.

The dental service has been serving the community for several years and is fully funded through government contracts - no private buy-in, no commission pressure, and no sales targets. This off course means you can focus on patient care good old-fashioned dentistry!

The Role

You will work from a brand-new, purpose-built mobile dental unit. A single chair, modern clinic equipped with the latest dental technology and equipment, supported by a team of dental professionals.

The scope includes all areas of general dentistry. Seeking a dentist with 2-3 or more years of post-graduate experience who is confident working independently within a community-based setting.

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in supporting diverse and vulnerable populations and share values centred on equity, cultural respect, and holistic healthcare.

Full cultural training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure international candidates feel confident, supported, and well-integrated into both the role and the wider community.

You'll enjoy consistent Monday to Friday (8:30am-5:00pm) with no weekend work, aside from the occasional community event.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support to patients of all ages.
• Work together with a collaborative team to ensure the wellness of patients.
• Conduct in-depth dental evaluations and recommend appropriate clinical interventions.
• Build and maintain positive rapport with patients and staff to support a welcoming and cooperative environment.
• Continuously update clinical knowledge and skills by keeping informed about the latest dental techniques and industry standards.
• Ensure accurate and complete documentation.

Key Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Dentistry, with eligibility for New Zealand registration (APC), associated work visa & indemnity insurance.
• Dentists with at least 2 to 3 years' experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to form comprehensible treatment plans with patients.
