We're currently recruiting for a qualified Optometrist to join a well-established and forward-thinking optical team in the Bournemouth Area.

The Role
As an Optometrist, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality clinical care while supporting the wider optical team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Due to the range of extended eye care services offered, you'll be supported to gain any additional accreditations required to deliver these services.
Professional development is a key part of the role, with access to a comprehensive CPD programme, protected time for further accreditations and funded training. The aim is to give you the support and resources needed to continue developing your clinical skills and reach your full potential.
There is also the opportunity for GOC-registered professionals to supervise students, providing a rewarding way to support the next generation of optical professionals while developing your own skills and experience.
You'll also have access to in-store, regional and central support teams, ensuring expert guidance is available for both clinical and service-related queries.
Hours & Rota
40 hours per week - Full Time
The role operates on a two-week rota:
Week 1
Week 2
The structured rota provides a consistent working pattern within a seven-day opening environment.

We're looking for an Optometrist who combines strong clinical skills with a genuine passion for patient care, customer service and professional development.
You'll have:
You'll also need to be able to provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK, NHS performer-list registration and two clinical references as part of the compliance process.

- Completing comprehensive eye examinations
- Conducting contact lens examinations
- Delivering extended eye care services
- Screening and monitoring patients
- Maintaining high clinical and departmental standards
- Supporting the training and development of colleagues through coaching
- Working closely with the Dispensing Optician Manager and wider optical team
- Contributing to the development of new and enhanced patient services

About You
We're looking for an Optometrist who combines strong clinical skills with a genuine passion for patient care, customer service and professional development.
You'll have:
- Full GOC registration
- NHS performer registration with your relevant area team or health board
- MECs or WECs accreditation, or a willingness to achieve the relevant accreditation within 12 months - fully funded and supported
- A commitment to maintaining your statutory CPD requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for delivering high standards of clinical care
- An interest in developing patient services and supporting the wider optical team
You'll also need to be able to provide evidence of your Right to Work in the UK, NHS performer-list registration and two clinical references as part of the compliance process.
