Full time or Part time Optometrist role, North Berwick

A well established independent Opticians is looking for a clinically minded Optometrist to join their close knit, experienced & friendly team, local to Edinburgh

This well established, independent Opticians, based local to Edinburgh is looking for a passionate Optometrist to come on board and join their North Berwick with the occasional need for cover in their local sister store too.

You would become part of a practice that places huge focus on offering a personalised services with test times ranging from 30-50 minutes dependant on patient needs.

This is a single testing practice, that has an exceptional reputation in the area, being extremely patient centric, running specialist clinics and always going above and beyond for patience requirements

This is an employer who basis huge importance on work life balance and so you would only be required to do two in four Saturdays, with a short day, finishing at 3pm. Monday to friday, general working hours are 9-5:30pm with no late evenings.

If you are a Optometrist, confident sole testing, interested in joining an independent opticians, with a low pressure environment, who has great interest providing only the highest quality service to patients, then this really is the role for you.


Key Duties

  • Full time opportunity, working up to 5 days a week, with alternate Saturday cover required
  • General working hours are 9am to 5.30pm (with a 3pm finish on a Saturday)
  • Flexible test times of 30-50 minutes dependant on patient needs
  • Passion for Optics with a patient centric approach
  • Great team player with excellent communication skills
  • Working alongside experienced support staff including Dispensing Opticians, Optical Assistants and front of house staff.
  • It would be essential that you would be happy to cover their local sister store based in Leith when required

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements

  • Qualified Optometrist registered with the GOC
  • Right to work in the uk
  • Independent Prescribing qualification would be ideal but not necessary, as would paediatrics
