Veterinary Surgeon

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing small animal practice in Guernsey. This role is ideal for a vet who wants to be part of an exciting new chapter within a practice undergoing significant investment, redevelopment, and long-term growth.

Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care
• Manage a varied small animal caseload with a balanced mix of consultations and surgery
• Work cases up to a high clinical standard with continuity of care
• Collaborate closely with the wider clinical team and leadership
• Contribute ideas and support the ongoing growth and development of the practice
• Build strong client relationships within a loyal local community

Working Pattern

• 5-day working week
• Approximately 50/50 consult and surgery split
• 15-minute consultations as standard, with flexibility for longer appointments where required
• 1 in 4 Saturdays with time off in lieu
• Manageable out-of-hours rota with additional financial incentives and retainers

This structure provides a sustainable balance between clinical development, case continuity, and personal wellbeing.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
• RCVS registration (or eligibility)
• Previous experience in small animal practice preferred
• Confident with consultations and routine surgery
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Positive and proactive approach with enthusiasm for contributing to practice growth
