Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused and relationship-driven professional to take on a pivotal role in advancing innovative surgical solutions across Central England and the Northern Home Counties. The position offers the chance to work closely with surgeons in the operating theatre, support NHS and private sector stakeholders, and deliver technologies that improve efficiency and patient outcomes.

Role Purpose

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and managing strong relationships with key opinion leaders, surgeons, and procurement teams to ensure the successful adoption of hemostasis and sealing products. You will deliver tailored solutions, identify new opportunities, and provide outstanding service to clinical teams across your territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and foster strong relationships with surgeons and clinical professionals
  • Support product usage in operating theatres through presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on guidance.
  • Identify opportunities with new customers and develop tailored solutions to meet their specific needs.
  • Grow and manage sales within the existing customer base while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with pharmacists, purchase managers, and administrators to ensure continuous product availability within trusts and clinics.
  • Maintain strong product, therapeutic, and competitor knowledge.
  • Conduct regular territory analysis to track customer activity, competitor landscape, sales trends, and market share.
  • Deliver monthly customer activity and sales reports, including updates on pipeline opportunities.
  • Ensure CRM systems are updated with accurate and GDPR-compliant contact and activity records.
  • Provide tailored training sessions to clinical teams based on identified needs.
  • Travel frequently within the territory (50-80%), with occasional overnight stays.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local, regulatory, and professional standards.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree-level qualification in life sciences (desirable).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales experience in theatres and clinics.
  • Established network of key opinion leaders in general surgery, neurosurgery, HPB, cardiothoracic, or urology.
  • Strong knowledge of the NHS and private sector sales cycle (essential).
  • Experience working within NHS Trusts and super Trusts.
  • Hemostasis and/or biosurgery experience highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Strong numerical and analytical ability to evaluate commercial approaches.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (e.g., SalesForce).
  • Based within Central England or the Northern Home Counties region.

Package

  • Upto £60k base
  • £12k On target but £31k @110% SVT.
  • Car allowance - £7k per year
  • Pension, Expenses, package.
