Veterinary Surgeon

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice in the East London area. This role has become available due to continued growth and an expanding caseload, making it an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team with a loyal client base and access to modern facilities.

This position would suit a confident clinician who enjoys a varied first-opinion caseload and is comfortable with both consultations and surgery. Previous sole charge experience is desirable, and you'll have the opportunity to work with an experienced team while maintaining a high level of clinical autonomy.

Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care to a varied small animal caseload
• Perform consultations, diagnostics and routine surgical procedures
• Work up medical cases to a high clinical standard
• Participate in sole charge duties when required
• Build strong relationships with clients and provide excellent continuity of care
• Work collaboratively with the wider veterinary and nursing team to deliver outstanding patient care

Working Pattern

• Full-time position working 40 hours across 4 days
• No out-of-hours commitments
• Practice opening hours are Monday to Friday 9:00am-7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-6:00pm and Sunday 10:30am-4:30pm

Practice Facilities

• Well-established first-opinion small animal practice with a loyal and growing client base
• Team of four Veterinary Surgeons supported by experienced nurses and support staff
• Modern purpose-built facilities featuring an in-house laboratory, in-house cytology, digital radiography, dental radiography, new ultrasound equipment, fully equipped operating theatre, isolation ward and dedicated hospital ward
• Strong focus on internal medicine, surgery, dentistry and orthopaedic procedures
• Purpose-built premises with free onsite parking and excellent transport connections

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
• RCVS registration (or eligibility)
• Previous experience in small animal practice
• Confident in both medicine and routine surgery
• Previous sole charge experience preferred
• Excellent communication and client care skills
• A collaborative team player with a proactive approach to clinical development
