Veterinary Surgeon Small Animal | Experienced Team | Up to £70,000 DOE | No OOH | North East England

Are you an experienced small animal vet looking for a new challenge in a supportive, forward-thinking environment?
An exciting opportunity has arisen at a busy first-opinion practice in the North East due to a recent team change. With a locum recently stepping down due to commute issues, we're now looking for a permanent vet to join our expanding and dedicated team.

The Role

This role would suit a vet who is confident in both consults and surgery someone who's been in practice long enough to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively.

  • Part time role (but will still consider full time applicants)
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays, 9am1pm
  • No out-of-hours
  • 15-minute consults
  • Surgical focus on 2 full days, remaining days for consults
  • No sole charge routinely

About You

  • Minimum of 23 years' experience in first opinion practice
  • Comfortable and confident with routine surgeries and consultations
  • Efficient, quick-thinking, and team-oriented
  • Certificates not essential, but support available if desired

The Practice

  • First-opinion, small animal practice
  • Currently supported by 2 experienced vets
  • Looking to grow the team to 2.53 vets
  • Strong nursing team
  • Working toward installing dental X-ray (already has ultrasound)
  • Well-organised, supportive, and keen to grow services and skills in-house

The Package

  • Salary up to £70,000 for the right candidate (experienced all-rounder)
  • CPD encouraged and supported
  • 5.6 weeks holiday

  • No OOH commitment
  • Friendly and experienced management structure with a long-standing PM and supportive senior vet

Located in a well-connected area in the North East with good public transport links, onsite parking, and access to a loyal, growing client base. The surrounding area offers a great lifestyle balance with both town and countryside options nearby.
