Are you an experienced small animal vet looking to take ownership of your caseload, influence clinical standards, and be part of a passionate and growing team? Our thriving, independently-owned practice in Morpeth is looking for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join us as we continue to expand.

About the Practice

We are a busy, nurse-led small animal practice located within a thriving retail store environment in Morpeth just 15 minutes from the coast and a short commute from Newcastle. In just 7 months, we've doubled our client base to 3,5004,000 and the demand continues to grow. Now, we're on the hunt for the right vet to help us build and retain more complex caseloads in-house, especially in orthopaedics and advanced surgery.

Our setup includes:

  • A highly experienced team of 6 RVNs and 4 client care professionals
  • Dental x-ray, brand-new referral-level ultrasound, and a strong commitment to continuous investment in new equipment

The Role

We're looking for a vet who can confidently manage routine surgical and medical cases, with the drive to build a more advanced caseload in-house. Orthopaedic interest is especially welcome we currently refer to nearby specialists and would love to bring those cases into the practice.

  • Full-time (4 days/week, 9am7pm) or open to part-time
  • 1 in 3 Saturdays, 9am3:30pm
  • No out-of-hours
  • 15-minute consults with protected breaks
  • Typical split: 2 days consults / 2 days surgery
  • Potential for occasional sole charge (e.g. holidays, Saturdays), but not routine

About You

  • Confident with first-opinion practice and routine surgeries
  • A passion for case continuity and client care
  • Minimum 12 years' experience required this role is not suitable for new graduates
  • Ortho or other special interest? Let's talk we'd love to bring it in-house
  • Open to vets working towards or holding certificates funding available

The Package

  • Salary: up to £75,000 depending on experience
