A new opportunity has become available in Abergavenny for Head Nurse to join a busy and friendly practice, with a salary of up to £35,000!

A fantastic new position has become available at this vet group based primarily in Abervagenny, for a Head Nurse to join their team. The team itself is made up of 12 Vets, 11 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 2 ACAs across 4 sites and the team includes multiple certificate holders. Despite being mainly based at the Abergavenny practice some occasional travel between the different practices in the group will be required, so an ability to travel between them is essential.

This position would be ideal for any RVN looking to progress their career within a friendly and supportive practice and experience in leadership would be an advantage but not a necessity. Any training necessary can be given but an interest in management and mentoring, a desire to keep practice standards high and good to communication skills to support your nursing teams is a must.

With a mixture of 8 hour shifts shared out on a rota between 8am and 7pm, this role is a mixture of non clinical duties such as stock control, mentoring students, organising the nursing rota and your normal clinical nursing duties.

Key Duties

• Manage the nursing team across 4 busy sites
• Mentor students
• Stock control
• Rota management
• Organising meetings with the nursing team
• Perform any clinical duties to a high standard
• Work alongside the management team and clinical directors to ensure the smooth running of the practice

• Registered to work as a Veterinary Nurse on the RCVS
• Eligible to work in the UK
• Leadership experience ideal but not necessary
• 2+ Years experience working as a RVN
