We're currently recruiting for a qualified Dispensing Optician to join a well-established and forward-thinking optical team as an Optical Manager in the Taunton area.

The Role
As Optical Manager, you'll play a key role in the success of the optical department, ensuring the team has everything in place to deliver excellent patient service and clinical care.
Your responsibilities will include:
You'll have access to wider support from Home Office and Area Manager teams, providing guidance across clinical, operational and business-related areas. You'll also receive regular business updates and feedback to support your development in the role.
Hours & Rota
45 hours per week - Full Time
The role operates on a two-week rota:

The Role
As Optical Manager, you'll play a key role in the success of the optical department, ensuring the team has everything in place to deliver excellent patient service and clinical care.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing and managing the day-to-day operation of the optical department
- Leading and managing a team of Optometrists and Optical Assistants
- Supporting recruitment, development and performance management
- Overseeing compliance processes and procedures
- Managing sales forecasting and departmental targets
- Handling customer queries and ensuring a high standard of patient care
- Managing clinic operations and shop floor processes
- Ensuring the department is well equipped to meet customer needs
- Working closely with the Optometrist to coach and develop the wider team
- Maintaining high clinical, operational and customer service standards

About You
We're looking for an experienced optical professional with strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to excellent patient and customer care.
You'll have:
- Full GOC registration as a Dispensing Optician
- A commitment to maintaining your statutory CPD requirements
- Proven leadership experience within a fast-paced optical environment
- Confidence in coaching and developing others
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A strong focus on patient and customer care
- The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- A driven and ambitious approach to achieving departmental targets
