Are you an experienced small animal vet seeking a varied role in a well-established independent practice? Our client, a respected two-site small animal practice in Sheffield, is looking for a confident vet with strong medicine and/or surgical skills to join their friendly team.
About the Role
- Caseload: Mix of consultations and surgery; you'll book your own cases.
- Surgery focus: 2 days dedicated to surgery, including orthopaedics and lap spays.
- Consultations: 2 days dedicated to consults, seeing approx. 15 clients per day.
- Hours: 4 days per week, Monday or Friday off.
- Surgery: 8:00 -18:00
- Consults: 9:00 - 19:00
- Saturdays: 1:4 rota, 8:30 -15:30
- Out of hours: None
About the Practice
- Independent since 1992, with two sites: in Sheffield
- Team: 5 vets, 7 RVNs, 2 student nurses, 3 receptionists. Always 2 vets on site except for sole-charge Saturdays.
- Equipment: Orthopaedic theatre, lap spay kit, dental x-ray, fully equipped consult and surgery facilities.
- Specialisms: Orthopaedics, lap spays, general medicine and surgery.
The Package
- Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 depending on experience.
- Holidays: 6 weeks including bank holidays + birthday off.
- CPD: £3,000 per year (certificate opportunities available).
- Extras: RCVS & VDS fees paid, bonus scheme, overtime in TOIL.

Who We're Looking For
- Experience: Minimum 2 years post-qualification. Newly qualified candidates will not be considered.
- Confident in medicine and surgery, with orthopaedics experience a strong advantage.
- Team player who enjoys working collaboratively across two sites.
