A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing, independent small animal practice in Edinburgh. This role is ideal for a confident all-rounder with strong medical and surgical skills, looking to work in a modern, well-equipped clinic alongside an experienced and supportive team.
This vacancy has arisen due to a team member progressing into an exotics internship and residency, creating an excellent opportunity for an experienced vet to step into a key clinical role within the practice.

Key Duties
- Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care for small animals
- Manage a varied caseload, with a balance of consultations and surgery
- Work closely with an experienced clinical team, including certificate holders
- Support the continued growth and development of the practice
- Provide sole charge cover on weekends as required
Working Pattern
- Full-time preferred: 4 days per week (8:30am - 6:30pm)
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (consulting only)
- No out-of-hours requirements
- Flexible working may be considered

Practice Facilities
- Modern first-opinion small animal practice
- Advanced diagnostic equipment including on-site CT scanner
- Visiting specialists for orthopaedic cases
- Team of 3 vets and 3 nurses, creating a close-knit working environment
- Well-connected location with good public transport links
Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements
- BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
- RCVS registration (or eligibility)
- Ideally 5+ years' experience in small animal practice
- Confident in both medicine and surgery
- Comfortable working independently when required (including some sole charge)
- Positive, collaborative approach and commitment to patient care
