MedTech Hiring: CV Advice for Long-Term Success

🌟 Happy Friday Everyone! 🌟

If you’ve had one of those weeks and are planning to spend the weekend applying for jobs—especially in the MedTech space—you’re not alone. We’ve all been there. And while it’s tempting to blast your CV out to every listing that looks remotely relevant, a little fine-tuning can make a big difference.

Here’s some strategic recruitment CV advice to help you set yourself up for long-term success:

MedTech Hiring: CV Advice for Long-Term Success

It’s Not Just About Standing Out

We see a lot of CVs in MedTech hiring. It’s not necessarily about making your CV ‘stand out’. Think about the small details which make a big difference when we have a sea of resumes to review.

Here’s what helps:

Let me know what the company does.

Worked at “XXX Corp”? Nice – but I don’t know every company out there. Just one line like “European MedTech company focused on Surgical Orthopaedic devices” helps me quickly get what your role was all about.

Stick with the standard layout.

There’s a reason the classic resume format is still the go-to. Skip the fancy colours, weird shapes, or three-column setups. Unless you’re applying for a design role, keep it clean and easy to read.

Use numbers.

Saying “strong sales year one” is okay, but “grew territory by £100,000 to finish at 115% of target” actually shows me what you accomplished. In MedTech hiring, real results help your CV rise to the top.

Customise it for the job.

A one-size-fits-all resume won’t do you any favours. A short, tailored summary at the top, focused on the role, can make a big difference.

Keep LinkedIn in sync.

If your resume stands out, your LinkedIn is the next thing I’ll check. Make sure it’s up to date, matches your resume, and has a headline that reflects your work.

And most importantly?

Make it easy for me to help you.

Whether it’s your first step in MedTech or your tenth, we just want to be able to quickly understand what you’ve done and how we can help. The clearer your CV is, the easier it is for me or my colleagues at Prospect Health to go to bat for you.

That’s really all I want – a solid reason to move you forward to my clients.
