Optical Recruitment

Our three Specsavers practices had been running almost solely on Locums for nearly two years. The South Coast has always been a difficult place to recruit and using Locums was very expensive. We had used several recruitment agencies that had all provided nothing. I was contacted by Prospect Health and they quickly began to send me candidates interested in interviewing with me.

Shortly after this we recruited two Optometrists through Prospect Health. Both Optometrists are still with us today and performing extremely well. Since joining Specsavers, Bedminster in Bristol late in 2009 I have been trying to recruit another Optometrist via all the usual and sometimes unusual routes, all producing no candidates. Then in October I had a telephone call from Prospect Health saying they had a candidate who was in the area the next day for an interview and would I be interested. Not having used them before I agreed but was very cautious. The following day I interviewed the candidate who was very good indeed, and soon after I made an offer which was accepted.

In the past, I have encountered many problems with employing staff on a temporary basis. Nine times out of ten the applicant was unsuitable for our very unusual requirements and at very short notice. I telephoned Prospect Health really in desperation, as I required a CLO the next day on a film set. Liam at Prospect Health bent over backwards to assist with our request and he did indeed find a suitable person in less than one hour.

A few months later we were looking for CLO for a three month contract and didn’t hesitate to call Prospect Health again. Here is an account of the service I received from prospect health. I had been looking for an Optom for 4 months. Other agencies and head hunters had failed to deliver any potential candidates. I contacted prospect health after receiving a mail shot. As I wasn’t after just any Optom I was pleased you took the time to identify my specific requirements.
