Finding Pharmacy Jobs in Kent – Joshua’s Story with Prospect Health

Finding the right opportunity after qualifying can be challenging, particularly when circumstances mean you need to explore employment outside your current workplace.

For Joshua Wilcox, support from Paige Swales at Prospect Health helped him secure his first qualified Pharmacy Technician role at a Medical Practice in Kent, taking the next step in his pharmacy career.

Finding the right Pharmacy Technician job in Kent

Joshua had spent six years working at Darent Valley Hospital, initially as a Pharmacy Assistant before completing two years of training to qualify as a Pharmacy Technician.

Joshua was contacted by Paige, who introduced him to an opportunity at the Medical Practice in the Gravesend area.

Paige explained more about the position, the practice and the team, helping Joshua understand whether the role would be a suitable next step.

An added bonus was discovering that one of the pharmacists working at the practice was someone Joshua had previously worked alongside.

A helpful and knowledgeable recruitment service

Throughout the recruitment process, Joshua appreciated Paige’s friendly approach, knowledge of the practice and clear communication.

“She’s really pleasant to talk to, quite helpful with that.”

Paige kept in contact with Joshua through email, providing information about the recruitment process and helping him progress towards securing the position.

“Just generally quite helpful, quite informative.”

For Joshua, Paige’s familiarity with the practice and its team was particularly reassuring.

“It seemed like she knew the team here, so that was kind of nice.”

Starting a new career in primary care pharmacy

Joshua successfully secured the Pharmacy Technician position and started his new role in September, following the completion of his hospital contract.

Moving from hospital pharmacy into primary care has introduced him to a different working environment and an opportunity to broaden his professional experience.

Having spent six years working in a hospital setting, Joshua is now discovering the differences between the two environments and the benefits each can offer.

Most importantly, the move has enabled him to begin working in the qualified Pharmacy Technician role he trained for.

Would Joshua recommend Prospect Health?

When asked whether he would recommend Prospect Health to other Pharmacy Technicians looking for a new opportunity, Joshua confirmed that he would.

Reflecting on Paige’s support, he particularly valued her helpfulness, communication and understanding of the employer.

We’re delighted that Joshua has successfully taken this next step in his career and wish him every success in his new role.
