A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established and supportive small animal practice on a maternity cover basis from May 2026. This role offers the chance to work within a friendly, experienced team in a well-equipped environment, with a strong focus on clinical development and work-life balance.

Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care for small animals
• Work a balanced caseload of medicine and surgery
• Collaborate with an experienced and supportive clinical team
• Maintain excellent client relationships and standards of care
• Contribute to a positive and team-focused working environment

Working Pattern

• 4-day week, Monday to Friday (8:30am 7:00pm)
• One early finish per week (5:00pm)
• 1 in 4 Saturdays (9:00am 4:00pm)
• No Sundays
• No out-of-hours or sole charge

This structure supports an excellent work-life balance within a well-managed rota.

Practice Facilities

• RCVS-accredited small animal practice
• Separate cat and dog wards
• 4 consulting rooms, theatre, prep and diagnostic areas
• Well-equipped with ultrasound, digital X-ray, video endoscopy, in-house IDEXX laboratory, K-Laser, blood pressure monitoring, and multiparameter monitoring equipment
• Experienced team including multiple vets, RVNs, student nurses, support staff, and dedicated client care team

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
• RCVS registration (or eligibility)
• Experience in small animal practice (all levels considered)
• Confident in general practice or keen to develop within a supportive environment
• Positive, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills
• Interest in further development, including certificates
