A state-of-the-art hospital in Bedford is looking to add a Small Animal Vet to their very experienced team! Whether you're experienced or a new graduate, we welcome your application for either full-time or part-time roles.

An independent, state-of-the-art veterinary hospital which is also the Royal Veterinary College's workplace teaching hospital. Gain access to specialist vet services, knowledge, research, and training opportunities to develop your skills in areas that interest you.

The development potential here is immense with a team of twelve vets, including Advanced Practitioners in Small Animal Surgery, Companion Animal Behaviour, Zoological Medicine, and Small Animal Medicine. Teaching opportunities are robust, and we'll support your pursuit of a PgCert in Veterinary Education if desired.

Working Environment

Our facilities are top-notch, boasting an ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic with advanced equipment like Doppler ultrasound, digital x-ray, laparoscopy, and more. Our tools and facilities support high-standard care and effective learning.

Key Duties

- Full-time equals 4 days per week

- Handle consults, ops, and support vet duties (emergencies and repeat prescriptions only)

- Flexibility to leave early if duties are completed

- 1/4 Saturdays (08:30-16:00)

- One weeknight every other week on call

- One weekend on call every two months

- After 11pm, the RCV takes over phone lines; on-call for in-patients only

- No Bank Holidays

- Participation in RVC student rotation placement
