An exciting opportunity has arisen for a personable and enthusiastic qualified Dispensing Optician to join a well-established independent group with over 30 years of clinical excellence. Based in Cambridge, this branch is part of a reputable network of practices closely linked with Cambridge University and Addenbrooke's Hospital.

This independent setting allows for true clinical autonomy and the opportunity to spend quality time with each patient. With hour-long eye examinations and access to industry-leading technology, the team delivers outstanding care across a wide range of specialist services, including:

• Colorimetry
• Sports Vision
• Ortho-K
• IPL
• Dry Eye Treatment

The patient base is loyal and affluent, and the team is proud of the long-standing relationships built through consistent, high-quality care.

Many staff have been with the practice for decades, and the ideal candidate will share the same commitment to long-term continuity and excellence.

Key Duties

• Working Tuesday to Saturday (Saturdays only until 2pm) - 4 day week considered.
• Advise patients on suitable frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and personal style
• Interpret optical prescriptions accurately
• Take precise facial and eye measurements for lens fitting
• Fit, adjust, and repair eyewear for comfort and effectiveness
• Recommend appropriate lens types, coatings, and materials
• Manage and verify orders with suppliers, ensuring quality control
• Provide aftercare advice and support to patients
• Maintain accurate patient and sales records in line with data protection regulations
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and optical industry standards
• Assist with stock management and visual merchandising
• Deliver excellent customer service and support retail sales
• Supervise and support optical assistants or junior staff, where required
