A well-established, independent small animal practice based in a charming market town in Essex (near Southend-On-Sea) is seeking a fourth vet to join their close-knit, friendly, and supportive team. With full clinical freedom, genuinely compassionate care, and strong teamwork at the core, this is a great opportunity for an experienced vet who values autonomy, collaboration, and work-life balance.
As a family-owned practice, they enjoy complete independence in how they operatefrom choosing suppliers to shaping the way they care for both patients and their team.
Key Duties
- Provide first-opinion care in a collaborative and supportive environment
- Carry out routine consultations and surgeries with autonomy
- 4-day working week with only 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am?4pm)
- Weekday shifts between 8am?7:30pm, with just one late finish per week
- No out-of-hours, Sunday, or bank holiday work
- Extended consult slots for dermatology and euthanasia (30 minutes)
- Protected admin time built into the diary
- Participate in fortnightly team meetings and collaborative case discussions
- Contribute to practice improvement initiatives
Package and Benefits
- Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 DOE
- 4-day week + 1 in 4 Saturdays
- No OOH or inpatient care responsibilities (outsourced to a local 24-hour hospital)
