Lead Veterinary Surgeon Progressive SA Practice Up to £80K Partnership Potential

About the Practice

This independent, first-opinion practice boasts a loyal client base of over 4,000 active clients, a committed team, and all the modern equipment you'd expect including digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, and full IDEXX lab suite. The practice also benefits from a visiting Advanced Practitioner in Dermatology, offering specialist support on a weekly basis.

With a supportive and experienced nursing structure in place (Head Nurse, Senior RVN, 2 RVNs, a student nurse, and multiple vet care assistants), the practice provides a strong clinical and operational foundation. The working environment is collaborative, positive, and ambitious.

The Role

This is a flexible, full-time role ideal for a confident, surgically competent vet looking to make a real impact. Candidates with strong soft tissue surgical skills and an interest in orthopaedics or laparoscopy are especially encouraged to apply.

  • Flexible rota: typically 3 x 12-hour days/week
  • No OOH
  • 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (9am3pm), flexibility available
  • Dedicated surgical time (at least one ops day per week, often more)
  • Opportunity to work closely with visiting orthopaedic and soft tissue vets
  • Strong mentorship available from certificate-holding colleagues
  • Ideal Candidate
  • A confident, experienced small animal GP vet
  • Strong in routine soft tissue surgery, with potential to upskill in orthopaedics/laparoscopy
  • Demonstrates positive leadership qualities and emotional intelligence
  • Open to mentoring and team-building
  • Someone seeking long-term progression, possibly even partnership
  • New graduates are not ideal for this role, but those with 1+ years of solid experience may be considered with the right support plan.
