Mixed Animal Vet

Join a Supportive Independent Practice Where Mixed Practice Still Thrives

Are you a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role that offers genuine variety, a supportive team, and the opportunity to enjoy both your work and your life outside of it?

We're working with a highly regarded independent veterinary group in the North East that is looking to welcome an additional Mixed Vet to its experienced and long-standing team. This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth and offers the chance to join a practice where clinical freedom, teamwork and colleague wellbeing remain at the heart of everything they do.

The practice offers a varied caseload comprising approximately 80% small animal, 15% equine and 5% farm work, providing an excellent balance for vets who enjoy maintaining their skills across multiple disciplines. You'll be supported by an experienced team of vets and nurses, loyal clients, and a wider network of practices that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing.

What's on offer?

  • Salary from £50,000+ DOE
  • Full-time or part-time options available (minimum 3 days per week)
  • Generous holiday allowance starting at 6+ weeks, increasing with service
  • Monthly profit-share scheme following probation
  • BUPA healthcare
  • Generous CPD support and funding
  • RCVS and VDS fees paid
  • Pension scheme and enhanced benefits package
  • Discounted pet care and birthday leave

The role offers a sustainable and well-structured rota including just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and a shared 1 in 6 weekend on-call rota. Importantly, every on-call weekend is compensated with a long weekend immediately afterwards, ensuring excellent work-life balance. Weekend cover is always shared within a supportive veterinary team.

This is a rare chance to join a long-established independent group where many team members have remained for years due to the positive culture, clinical freedom and genuine investment in their people. The practice combines the benefits of a close-knit local team with the support and resources of a larger independent network across the North East.

The position would suit a vet looking to continue developing their clinical skills while working alongside experienced colleagues in a collaborative and friendly environment.
