How Hajera Found a New Pharmacist Job in North London with Prospect Health

Finding the right pharmacy role isn’t always simply about securing your next job. Hajera was looking for greater stability and to take the next step in her career, which suited her day-to-day needs.

After spending time working as a locum pharmacist, Hajera was ready for a more permanent opportunity. With the help of Paige Swales and the Pharmacy recruitment team at Prospect Health, she has now started her new role in North London and is gaining valuable experience in her first Pharmacy Manager position.

Looking for the Right Pharmacist Job in North London

When Hajera began speaking to Paige, there were several practical things that were important to her.

She wanted a role that offered stability but also needed to consider factors such as the commute, distance from home and parking.

Rather than simply putting her forward for any available vacancy, Paige spent time understanding what Hajera was looking for and making sure the opportunity was a good fit.

Hajera explained:

“Paige was really great. She asked a lot of questions about what kind of thing I was looking for and made me feel really reassured that the role she had found would be good for me.”

Whenever Hajera had questions about the vacancy, Paige went back to the employer to get the information she needed, helping her make an informed decision about the opportunity.

Support Throughout the Recruitment Process

For Hajera, working with a recruitment consultant was a very different experience from her previous job searches, where she had generally dealt directly with pharmacy owners.

Having Paige there as a point of contact meant she had somebody to turn to throughout the process.

“I felt really, really supported. With other job roles I’ve always spoken directly to the company owner, so this felt much more like I was supported the entire way. I didn’t feel alone in the process.”

That support continued when it came to finalising the details of her new position.

When Hajera raised a concern about part of her proposed contract, Paige spoke to the employer on her behalf, followed up to make sure the change had been made and kept Hajera updated throughout.

For Hajera, that proactive communication made a real difference.

“Paige was really proactive in getting it done, checking that it had been done and keeping me updated on the timelines. All in all, the process was great.”

Taking the Next Step into Pharmacy Management

Hajera started her new role at the beginning of August and is now developing her experience as a Pharmacy Manager.

Moving from locum work into a permanent management position has given her the stability she was looking for as well as the opportunity to build a different set of skills.

She is already becoming involved in developing pharmacy services and working with her team to increase activity around Pharmacy First. Her role is also giving her exposure to new services and the wider responsibilities involved in running a community pharmacy.

As Hajera explained, it is providing exactly the kind of management experience and exposure she wanted for the next stage of her career.

She has also settled into a small team that she describes as “really, really good”, while beginning to explore the longer-term opportunities available to her.

Would Hajera Recommend Prospect Health?

Absolutely.

When asked whether she would use Prospect Health again if she decided to look for another pharmacist position in the future, Hajera said:

“I most definitely would. Paige is really kind. She was very professional in everything that she helped me with and her personality was great too. If I were to move to something else, I would always want to come back to Paige.”
