Full-Time Opportunity
We are currently supporting a well-established and growing multi-disciplinary medical clinic in Calgary, Alberta in their search for a Specialist Physician with expertise in Internal Medicine and/or Gastroenterology to join their team.

The Opportunity
You will provide specialist medical services to adult patients, focusing on the assessment, diagnosis and management of complex internal medicine and gastrointestinal conditions.
The role primarily involves outpatient clinical care, with opportunities for procedural work and hospital privileges where applicable and authorised.
You will collaborate closely with primary care physicians and other specialists, providing consultations, expert medical opinions and ongoing management of patients with complex medical needs.
The clinic offers a modern practice environment with fully digital systems, enabling physicians to focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care.

Role Responsibilities
The successful physician will:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations
- Diagnose and manage complex internal medicine and gastrointestinal conditions
- Develop and implement individualised treatment and follow-up plans
- Order, interpret and review diagnostic investigations including laboratory tests, imaging and pathology reports
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments in accordance with accepted clinical practice
- Provide specialist consultations and advice to referring physicians
- Perform gastroenterology procedures such as gastroscopy and colonoscopy, where credentialed and authorised
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as required
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical records and clinical documentation
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options and preventative care
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary healthcare teams
- Participate in quality improvement, professional development and peer review activities
Candidate Requirements
To be considered, applicants must:
- Hold a medical degree from a recognised medical school
- Have completed an approved residency in Internal Medicine
- Have completed accredited subspecialty training in Gastroenterology (or equivalent specialist experience)
- Be certified or eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada
- Hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
- Maintain membership in good standing with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
