The practice is currently expanding and has a clear vision to achieve hospital status over the next five years, with significant investment planned in both facilities and equipment. This role would suit a confident small animal vet who enjoys working cases up thoroughly and wants to play an active role in the future development of a progressive independent practice.

Key Duties
- Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care to a varied small animal caseload
- Carry out consultations, diagnostics and routine surgery
- Manage medical and surgical cases from initial presentation through to completion wherever appropriate
- Work closely with an experienced nursing team to provide exceptional patient care
- Contribute to the continued growth and clinical development of the practice
- Participate in limited sole charge duties at weekends only
Working Pattern
- Full-time preferred (40 hours per week), with flexibility for the right candidate
- Practice opening hours are Monday to Friday 8:45am-6:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm, with the practice closed on Sundays
- Limited sole charge, primarily at weekends
The practice offers flexibility around the balance of consultations and surgery, allowing the role to be tailored to individual clinical interests wherever possible.
Practice Facilities
- Well-established independent small animal practice with over 30 years of history
- Ambitious plans to become a veterinary hospital within the next five years
- Significant investment planned, including future CT and endoscopy facilities
- Four experienced veterinary surgeons supported by seven nurses and an 11-strong support team
- Modern facilities include an in-house laboratory with same-day blood testing, digital radiography, ultrasound, dedicated dental facilities, fully equipped operating theatres, and orthopaedic surgery equipment including BOAS capability
- Strong interest in exotics alongside a varied companion animal caseload
- Large and loyal client base with consistently growing caseloads
Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements
- BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
- RCVS registration (or eligibility)
- Minimum of two years' experience in small animal practice
- Confident in both consultations and routine surgery
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Team-oriented with a proactive approach to learning and development
- Interest in certificates or future leadership progression welcomed
