Exciting Opportunity for a Mixed Practice Vet, Large Animal Bias (Independent Practice, Wales)

Are you a vet looking for variety, autonomy, and the chance to work across both small and large animals? Our client, a friendly, independent mixed practice, is seeking a motivated vet to join their supportive team of 9 vets and 9 nurses.

About the Role
This is a mixed practice position with a large animal bias. The ideal candidate will enjoy:
•Farm work: 45% of the caseload, primarily beef and sheep, with 34 dairy herds.
•Small animal work: 50% of the caseload, mostly first opinion with light inpatient care.
•Equine first opinion: around 5% of cases (experience not essential, farming background helpful).
The role offers flexibility in hours:
•Weekdays 8:3017:30, 4 days per week (part-time considered).
•Saturday mornings (9:0012:00) when on call.
•Out-of-hours work is shared (1:8 rota) with two vets and a nurse always on call. Extra fees are paid per call-out.
You'll have the opportunity to manage a variety of cases, work closely with a strong support team, and continue to develop professionally with CPD and certificate support.

About the Practice
•Independent practice, single site, led by 3 directors.
•Purpose-built facility, opened just 12 months ago, fully equipped with dental X-ray, ultrasound, and standard equipment.
•Supportive team: 9 vets, 9 nurses, 2 student nurses, dedicated TB testers, and excellent reception/admin staff.

The Package
•Salary: from £35k for new graduates, flexible for the right candidate.
•Holidays: 5.5 weeks plus bank holidays (worked bank holidays get a day in lieu).
•CPD: £1,500 budget (flexible) certificate support available.
•Memberships: RCVS, VDS, and BVA group fees covered.
•Extras: Accommodation available, work van or practice vehicle use, pension.

Who We're Looking For
•A confident mixed practice vet, ideally with a couple of years' experience, though new graduates are welcome.
•Comfortable with both small and large animal work, with a preference for those who enjoy farm-based practice.
•A team player who values client relationships, high-quality care, and collaboration with colleagues.
