Veterinary Surgeon

Veterinary Surgeon, North London

We're working with a well-established, modern veterinary practice in North London that's looking to welcome a dedicated and customer-focused Veterinary Surgeon to their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys continuity of care, values strong clinical standards, and wants to work in a genuinely supportive environment.

The Role
This position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with 3+ years' experience, including at least one year working in the UK. The practice is particularly keen to speak with candidates who have a strong interest in early diagnostics, case follow-through, and ongoing clinical development.

You'll be responsible for:
  • Delivering high-quality preventive care
  • Diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical and surgical cases
  • Managing cases with consistency and attention to detail
  • Working collaboratively with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues
  • Excellent communication skills and a genuine focus on animal welfare are essential.

Working Hours & Flexibility
  • 4-day working week (full time), with a consistent day off
  • 9-hour shifts, combining consulting and surgical duties
  • 1 hour of protected admin time every day, built into your schedule
  • 1-in-4 weekend rota
  • The practice is open to flexible working arrangements and is happy to discuss alternative patterns to support work-life balance.

Benefits Package
The role comes with a competitive and comprehensive benefits package, including:
  • Quarterly recognition payments
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Income protection
  • Electric car scheme
  • Employee benefits and retail discounts
  • Health and wellbeing support programme
  • Funded professional memberships
  • Staff surgery discounts
  • CPD allowance
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Internal leadership and development training

The Practice
You'll be based in a purpose-built, modern practice with excellent facilities and up-to-date equipment. The team includes vets with a broad range of interests, with many working towards or already holding certificates. Clinical development is actively encouraged and supported.
The wider group is a large, independent, family-owned veterinary organisation with practices across the UK. They place a strong emphasis on clinical quality, colleague wellbeing, and creating environments where teams enjoy coming to work.
