Veterinary Surgeon Small Animal Practice
Wirral Peninsula, Merseyside

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice located on the Wirral Peninsula, within easy reach of Liverpool, Chester, and the scenic coastline and mountains of North Wales.

This role offers an excellent balance of clinical variety, supportive teamwork, and genuine worklife balance within a modern, purpose-built veterinary environment.

Key Duties

  • Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care
  • Conduct consultations and routine surgical procedures
  • Work cases up to a high clinical standard
  • Collaborate closely with a skilled nursing and support team
  • Occasionally work sole charge when required
  • Contribute to maintaining excellent client relationships and patient care standards

Working Pattern

  • Average 37-hour working week
  • 1 in 5 Saturday mornings only
  • No out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities

Practice Facilities

The clinic is a purpose-built small animal practice equipped with modern technology to support high-quality diagnostics and treatment, including:
  • Digital X-ray and processor
  • Colour Doppler ultrasound with ECG
  • Dental radiography
  • Ultrasonic dental descaler with air drill
  • Diathermy equipment
  • Modern surgical and diagnostic facilities

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

  • BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
  • RCVS registration (or eligibility)
  • Previous experience in small animal practice
  • Confidence with consultations and routine surgery
  • Ability to work sole charge when required
  • Positive, collaborative approach and commitment to patient care
