Full-Time Veterinary Surgeon - Mixed Practice or Small Animal Focus

An established, purpose-built veterinary practice in the beautiful Northern Rivers region is seeking a Full-Time Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced and supportive team.

This opportunity is open to both mixed animal veterinary surgeons and those with a small animal-only focus. With a varied caseload and a strong support network, this role offers genuine flexibility and long-term career potential in a relaxed, community-focused environment.

Located in a vibrant regional town surrounded by national parks and stunning beaches this is an ideal position for someone seeking both professional fulfilment and lifestyle balance.

About the Practice

• Mixed practice with approximately 85% small animals and 15% large animals
• Team of 3 experienced veterinary surgeons and 12 highly supportive nurses
• Well-equipped facility including in-house pathology, digital radiography and ultrasound
• Proud partner practice with University of Sydney, regularly hosting veterinary students from Australia and overseas

The Opportunity

The successful candidate will join a welcoming and collaborative team to:

• Deliver high-quality veterinary care across a diverse and interesting caseload
• Pursue individual areas of clinical interest (the practice is happy to accommodate preferences)
• Participate in a shared after-hours roster: one on-call night per week and one weekend in four (Friday-Sunday), shared equally
• The position offers a 35-hour work week, supporting strong work-life balance.

About You

To be considered, you will need:

• A Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) or equivalent qualification recognised in Australia
• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic setting
• A collaborative approach and commitment to high standards of patient care
• Both experienced veterinarians and confident early-career vets are encouraged to apply, with strong mentorship available.
