Veterinary Surgeon

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent Tier 3 small animal hospital in Swindon. This role is ideal for a vet with some experience who is looking to develop their clinical skills within a supportive, forward-thinking environment.

The position offers exposure to a more complex and varied caseload, working alongside certificate holders across multiple disciplines, with excellent support for ongoing development and career progression.

Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality veterinary care within a hospital environment
• Manage a varied caseload, including more complex cases referred internally
• Work closely with certificate holders in medicine, surgery, imaging, and ophthalmology
• Contribute to a collaborative and supportive clinical team
• Maintain excellent standards of patient and client care

Working Pattern

• Ideally 4 days per week (8:30am 7:00pm)
• Flexible working patterns considered
• 1 in 5 weekends (mix of Saturdays and Sundays) with time off in lieu
• No requirement for routine out-of-hours work within this role

Practice Facilities

• Independent, multi-site practice with a Tier 3 hospital
• Advanced diagnostic facilities including on-site CT scanner

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
• RCVS registration (or eligibility)
• Some experience in small animal practice
• Interest in developing clinical skills, with a medicine bias desirable
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to high standards of patient and client care
