Veterinary Surgeon

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established, independent small animal practice in Swindon. This role is ideal for a vet looking for variety, flexibility, and strong clinical support, with the opportunity to work across multiple branches while maintaining close links to a well-equipped central hospital.

Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care across multiple sites
• Manage a varied caseload including both consultations and surgery
• Work across branch practices, with a primary base and rotation across additional sites
• Undertake some sole charge responsibilities depending on location
• Collaborate with a wider clinical team and hospital-based colleagues
• Maintain excellent standards of patient and client care

Working Pattern

• Flexible working pattern with full-time or part-time options
• Typically 4 days per week (flexible)
• 1 in 4 weekends (9:00am - 3:00pm)
• No out-of-hours commitments

Practice Facilities

• Independent, multi-site small animal practice (5 branches plus central hospital)
• Access to a state-of-the-art hospital with advanced diagnostic equipment including CT
• Work alongside certificate holders in medicine, surgery, imaging, and ophthalmology
• Mix of sole charge branch work and larger team environments
• Strong mentoring and support systems in place

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
• RCVS registration (or eligibility)
• Experience in small animal practice
• Confident in both medicine and surgery
• Comfortable with occasional sole charge
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
• Flexible and adaptable, with willingness to work across multiple sites
