Poultry Veterinary Surgeon

Location: York area, North Yorkshire
Salary: £40,000-£55,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Poultry Veterinary Surgeon to join a growing and well-established poultry veterinary team in North Yorkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive practice with a substantial commercial poultry client base, primarily working with broiler and layer units. Due to continued growth, the team is looking to welcome an additional vet to support its expanding caseload and maintain its commitment to delivering high-quality clinical services.

The role offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced poultry vets, with a combined team experience of more than 30 years, while developing your expertise across poultry health, disease prevention and flock management.

Applications are welcomed from both experienced poultry vets and new graduates, with training and support available for the right candidate.

The Role

• Join an established and expanding poultry veterinary team.
• Work with a large commercial client base, primarily focused on broiler and layer units.
• Advise clients on disease prevention and control strategies.
• Develop and implement flock health plans.
• Support poultry health management and performance.
• Provide guidance on disease investigation and clinical cases.
• Assist clients with audit requirements and relevant compliance standards.
• Contribute to maintaining high standards of veterinary care and client service.
• Build long-term relationships with commercial poultry producers.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in poultry medicine.
• MRCVS or eligible to register with the RCVS.
• Poultry experience is welcome but not essential.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• An organised and proactive approach to clinical work.
• Enthusiasm for disease prevention, flock health and commercial poultry production.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
