Prospect Health is recruiting for an experienced OOH ECC Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-supported veterinary team in Leeds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Vet with an interest in emergency and critical care who is looking for a structured night rota with significant time off between shifts.

Working 7 nights on followed by 14 nights off, this role offers a clear working pattern while giving you the support of an experienced overnight nursing team and access to strong in-house clinical expertise.

The Role

You will work from 8pm to 8am across a seven-night block, followed by 14 nights off.
During your shifts, you will work alongside:

• A dedicated OOH Registered Veterinary Nurse
• An OOH Veterinary Care Assistant
• Reception support until 10pm
• Additional twilight RVN support until midnight
• This means you will have practical clinical support throughout the busiest part of the evening, while still having the autonomy expected within an ECC position.

Clinical Support

You will also have access to experienced colleagues with additional qualifications across:

• Surgery
• Medicine
• Dentistry

This provides valuable clinical backup and a strong environment for continued professional development.

About You

This role would suit a confident Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys emergency and critical care work and is comfortable managing cases during overnight hours.

You will ideally:

• Have experience within small animal practice
• Be confident managing emergency presentations
• Be comfortable making independent clinical decisions
• Enjoy working closely with an experienced nursing team
• Have a strong interest in emergency and critical care
• Previous dedicated OOH or ECC experience would be beneficial.

Salary & Benefits

• £55,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
• 7 nights on, 14 nights off
• 8pm - 8am shifts

• £1,500 annual CPD allowance
