Veterinary Surgeon

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice in the Nottingham area. The practice is seeking a confident all-round GP vet with strong consulting and surgical skills who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient and client care.

Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality first-opinion veterinary care
• Manage a varied caseload of consultations and routine surgery
• Build strong relationships with clients and provide excellent customer service
• Work collaboratively with the wider veterinary and nursing team
• Participate in the weekend rota
• Support the continued growth and development of the practice
• Opportunity to take on additional clinical leadership responsibilities for the right candidate

Working Pattern

• Full-time or part-time considered
• Flexible working options available
• Participation in a 1 in 3 weekend rota, with time off in lieu provided for weekends worked
• No out-of-hours commitments mentioned

Practice Facilities

This established standalone small animal practice is supported by an experienced and welcoming team consisting of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, dedicated reception staff and an experienced Practice Manager.

The practice offers a varied first-opinion caseload with excellent opportunities to develop both medical and surgical skills, supported by ongoing investment in CPD and professional development.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
• RCVS registration (or eligibility)
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in UK small animal practice
• Confident with both consultations and routine surgery
• Surgical interest or certificate welcomed but not essential
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Passion for delivering outstanding patient and client care
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
